God's Plan

-"If God subtracted one pain, one heartache,
one disappointment from my life I would be less
than the person I am now,
less the person God wants me to be,
and my ministry would be less than He intends."

-Dixie Fraley - Her husband, Robert, died in the airplane crash that took Payne Stewart's life

Mack is on lesson 122 today and Abigail on 110, they both have to get to 160 by the end of May but I am not sure it is going to happen. So much to do and so little time!

Good Morning...

Change will not happen in our lives until we decide to make the change!

"But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself..."

Something that I again must work on!

Abigail

This ad appreared in the 'Grace Pride' paper of Abigail's school - the school is celebrating their 25th anniversary.

"Encourage your child to participate!
~ ...Not only to submit an entry for the “Grace Pride is…” essay contest, but to go for the win! Cash prizes awarded for 3rd-12th grade!"

Abigail won 1st place (4th grader) and received a $50.00 bill. We sure are impressed. Way to go Abs..
I hope to get a picture and a copy of her essay to post!
We sure are blessed to have such talented grandkids!  See you soon Abs...

Hillary and her Prague CZ project.

Hillary did this display for her ACE competition.  Although she did not place with it we sure had a great time putting it together.  She placed 1st in her painting - 3rd year in a row. She also place in 4 or 5 other things but can't remember what they were.  Her last year to compete next year she will be in college.   Way to go HILL!

Jake's Graduation From Basic Training.

Time sure has passed quickly. Jacob has graduated from basic training and is now in Maryland. Graduation was very impressive all those soldiers marching and singing He will be in Maryland for 4 weeks and then 11 weeks in a different location.  Now that he has his phone we had opportunity to talk yesterday and this morning I was able to text him before we headed to church. Modern technology is terrific. Gpa and Gma always have a hard time saying goodbye.  Gpa loves to hassle Jake!

A Fall

Took a tumble today down several steps and landed on my right side. I think I am going to be black and blue and stiff. Yikes it scared the both of us and I am thankful it is only black and blue marks and not broken bones.

Daylight Savings time begins - set the clocks ahead an hour before going to bed tonight. I think Spring may be on its way.

Getting Closer

Remove Formatting from selection

As you can see we are making progress in the kitchen. The cabinet doors should be here on Saturday and we still have to decide on the counter tops. John, son-in-law, will be completing the painting next week.

The pocket door to the laundry room has to be sanded and painted we will not be putting the trim up until we can replace the windows. PTL this project has been done without creating any debt - Whew!!! God is so good.

Jake with Gpa and Gma!

This was taken the morning that Jake left for basic training. He was excited yet a little nervous.

We sure love this first born grandchild!

This is the before picture of the kitchen and the other is the paint color we have chosen. I am ready for this to be done. Our wonderful son-in-law has been doing the work - he is such a blessing!

JW and Loreen Johnson

JW Johnson and his wife Loreen, were with us over the weekend. He preached all the services on Sunday at Bible Baptist Temple in St. Joseph. We spent quite a bit of time together and really enjoyed the fellowship which we really needed. Loreen gave her testimony Monday night at our ladies Heart N Home meeting. She is such a blessing to my heart. Safe travels!
I think people who never have missionaries, pastor or other full time Christian workers in there home or spend time with them are missing a huge blessing. You make friends for a lifetime!

Racine Wisconsin

My trip to Racine Wisconsin with my friend Janette was such a great blessing. Janette got to see some her family and I got to see some long time friends. Janette's brother rented us a great car and the ride gave us time to really enjoy fellowship. We also got to eat at the Iowa Machine Shed on several occasions. We were gone from Monday to Friday and traveled 1465 miles.

Had a busy day today. Jon and Emilie Rettig, missionaries to the Czech Republic are coming by and spending the night on Sunday. We are so excited they are great friends and we have known them for MANY years. We spent 2 1/2 months in CR while they were on furlough in 2007 watching over their ministry. What a joy and a blessing that was.
